KIDS DRUM LESSONS | ADELAIDE

Kids Drum Lessons Adelaide

Mike Krantis (aka The Amazing Magic Mike) is ready to become your child's mentor in acoustic drums. Now hailed as one of Adelaide's best drum teachers for children of all ages.

Children as young as five can learn to play acoustic drums. Mike teaches children how to become proficient at drumming and learn to focus on playing beats and rhythm patterns over and over to work on timing and coordination.

We only offer private drum lessons because students learn faster and get more out of them. The one-on-one nature (just you and your teacher) of private lessons allow the teacher to customise each lesson, song, exercise, and musical challenge to your exact needs at that exact point in the child's learning process.

Most importantly it's a non pressured class. No exams, no hassle and loads of fun!

Most of our drum students take weekly one-hour lessons with Mike.

PRICE : $45.00 per hour (we come to you or you come to us)

The classes are booked online in blocks of three. This ensures the child gives drumming a fair go! Everything seems hard to a child when they first begin new things. Mike will promise to make the experience of learning drums fun, memorable and rewarding!

1. DRUMMING IS AN OUTLET FOR CHILDREN OF ALL AGES

Let your child begin channeling their energy into acoustic drumming. It feels good to hit and crash things, and it can even improve a child's bad mood by releasing endorphins.

2. DRUMMING IMPROVES ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE IN CHILDREN

Research has proven that drumming can have a positive impact on cognitive development. Whether it’s listening skills, memory skills or fine motor skills, rhythm training comes with major benefits that can be applied in the classroom. Rock drumming for just an hour a week can help autistic children with better focus and social interaction at school. And as if that wasn’t enough, learning rhythm theory teaches counting and fractions, too!

3. DRUMMING IS PRODUCTIVE FOR CHILDREN

Rather than sit in front of a screen or be tempted by trouble, a regular activity like drumming provides a useful distraction. Drumming requires focus and energy, it’s also the perfect outlet to relieve stress and anxiety. Some go so far as to describe playing drums as meditative and good for mental health.

4. DRUMMING IS AMAZING EXERCISE FOR CHILDREN

Whether a child is playing pop, funk, or rock, they are increasing their heart rate and engaging muscles while moving around the set. Drummers develop coordination between limbs, which exercises the brain.

5. DRUMMING BUILDS CONFIDENCE

Some shy children excel when discovering playing a ‘loud’ instrument. It gives them a bigger voice. But being able to work on a skill, break it down into manageable parts, and feel successful when you master it… (that’s a confidence-builder in itself). Learning new rhythms and songs on the drums means overcoming obstacles and looking a challenge straight in the eye.
